Come close, I have a little secret for you. . . if you learn how to crochet this double crochet granny square you can make a blanket with a whole bunch of them sewn together, or you can make one HUGE granny square just by growing your square. How cool is that? I love this project because it’s quick and easy to learn and you get amazingly lovely results!

Stitch Instructions

Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring

Rnd 1: dc in ring, [ch 3, 3 dc in ring] 3 times, ch 3, dc in ring, sl st to top of first dc, do not turn – 12 dc.

Rnd 2: dc in same stitch as sl st, dc in dc, *[2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc] in ch-3 sp, dc in next 3 dc; rep from * around  to last ch-3 sp, [2 dc, ch-3, 2 dc] in last ch-3 sp, dc in last dc, sl st in top of first dc, do not turn – 28 dc.

Rnd 3: dc in same stitch as sl st, dc in next 3 dc, *[2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc] in ch-3 sp, dc in next 7 dc; rep from * around to last ch-3 sp, [2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc] in last ch-3 sp, dc in last 3 dc, sl st to top of first dc, do not turn – 44 dc

Rnd 4: dc in same stitch as sl st, dc in next 5 dc, *[2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc] in ch-3 sp, dc in next 11 dc; rep from * around to last ch-3 sp, [2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc] in last ch-3 sp, dc in last 5 dc, sl st in top of beg dc, fasten off 60 dc.
